On the 11th World Eduniversal Convention, which took place on 16 to 19 October 2018 in Dubrovnik, Croatia Lomonosov MSU Business School has again confirmed its status of “Universal business school with strong global influence”. The “5 Palms of Excellence” reward was received by the Dean of Lomonosov MSU Business School professor Oleg S. Vikhanskiy. Suffolk private school launches sister school in the heart of Moscow

Brookes Cambridge, which is based in Risby, near Bury St Edmunds, and is part of the Brookes Education Group, has announced details of the £26million new school – which is located in the Botanical Gardens area of Moscow. The groundbreaking partnership comes at a time of rising political tension between the UK and Russia on the back of the Salisbury novichok attack.

But the new independent school, Brookes Moscow, has already forged partnerships with Moscow State University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA. Students at the school will study the International Baccalaureate.

David Rose, UK director for Brookes Education Group, says that Russian families are keen to explore the high-tech learning opportunities at the school. (Read more….)

Medical Education in Russia

Higher medical education in Russia can only be obtained through full-time education in a university . Terms depend on specialization. For example, you can become a bachelor in the direction of “Nursing” for 4 years. And to get a diploma of a surgeon, you will have to unlearn a total of 8-9 years.

In the US, for example, in order to become a doctor, you need to spend 12 to 18 years studying. In the UK, medical students are trained for 10 years, in Germany – 8-10 years. To get a doctor’s degree in Canada, you need to complete 4 years in the medical school, another in the university, and then, depending on your specialization, 3 to 5 years in the internship.

Medical schools in Russia can be enrolled immediately after school. Universities offer programs in Russian and English. If you do not know Russian, you can learn it at the preparatory department or courses that operate under the leading medical universities in Russia. The best universities in Eurasia

Russia’s Lomonosov Moscow State University has topped a new Times Higher Education table of the best research-intensive universities in Eurasia. As well as taking the overall number one spot in THE’s Eurasia ranking, the Russian institution ranks top in the region for its teaching environment, its research environment and its international outlook.

The overall top three is completed by two other Russian universities: the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, which achieves a very high industry income score, and Tomsk Polytechnic University, which has a strong citation impact. More than a third (27) of the 74 places in the ranking are taken by Russian universities, making it the most-represented country, followed by Turkey, with 22 institutions, and Iran, with 18.

Iran’s Babol Noshirvani University of Technology is fourth overall and ranks top for citation impact, while Turkey’s Istanbul Technical University at joint 19th overall leads the industry income measure. Universities from six countries feature in the table: Russia, Iran, Turkey, Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia. Meet The Man Behind Russia’s First Independent Business School

Sergey Myasoedov and three fellow academics founded IBS-Moscow in 1988. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, his pet project has become one of Russia’s leading business schools.

1988. The Soviet Union is in its twilight years. In Moscow, four academics put their money together and embark on the project that they hope will change the landscape of Russian business education.

Back then, only two imitation business school existed in Russia, both established by, and firmly under the control of, the Central Committee of the Community Party. Russian business schools are looking to expand internationally. For many, that means looking towards China and the East.

The Cold War saw the world divided into two blocs, East and West, with the US and the Soviet Union competing for influence across global markets. In business education now, something similar—but far more productive—is afoot.

The first Art & Science master’s degree program is launched

ITMO University, Russian Academic Excellence Project participant, launches the first Art & Science international master’s degree program in Russia which integrates art and science.

Dimitri Ozerkov, art historian, curator and Director of the Department of Contemporary Art, the State Hermitage Museum, became an academic supervisor of the master’s degree program. All training under the program will be provided in English.

The new master’s degree program is aimed at training interdisciplinary specialists who are to tackle the issues related to science, society and culture combining tools in the sphere of art and advanced technologies. The program launched within Project 5-100 will provide artists who would like to discover new opportunities for being expressive with necessary scientific and technical skills, and will help encourage creativity of those who have practical experience in technology and are seeking new ways of creative development in arts. VSU, DSTU & NSU Universities To Offer Crypto Classes & Diplomas

More and more academic institutions in Russia are offering educational courses. They are also offering postgraduate programs in blockchain and crypto technologies.

THE Research Excellence Summit heads to Russia. Event will feature launch of four Times Higher Education subject rankings.

Times Higher Education’s first global event dedicated to research excellence will be held in partnership with Russia’s National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) later this year.

The THE Research Excellence Summit will take place at the Moscow institution from 7 to 9 November 2018. It will be on the theme: “Institutional transformation towards world-class research in the natural sciences”. The event will host the launch of four THE subject rankings: physical sciences; life sciences; clinical, pre-clinical and health; and psychology, and include data masterclasses revealing insights from the new tables.
